GECKO RIDGE – ACCOMMODATION IN SWAKOPMUND
All roads lead to Swakopmund. At least this is true for most visitors travelling Namibia. With its rich heritage, myriad of activities and easy-going vibe, this picturesque coastal town offers a welcome respite for holidaymakers. Gecko Ridge offers a range of accommodation options including luxurious guest house rooms, pet-friendly self-catering units and campsites.
Gecko Ridge, only 15 km from the Swakopmund center, is an oasis in its own right. Surrounded by rocky plains of the Namib Desert, our lodge lies sheltered among large rustling palm trees and flourishing gardens. Panoramic views stretch far beyond the green vein of the Swakop river snaking through the arid land and the mystical moon landscape bearing silent witness to ancient geological forces.
Gecko Ridge is one more secret the oldest desert on earth holds and we invite you to share it with us.

What Our Guests Say
I stayed at Gecko Ridge and it is always a pleasure. With new self-catering chalets and a bar, what more do you need :-). Zandre has always been a good host and has always been on point. The setting is beautiful and away from the busy streets of Swakopmund town. Zandre has put a lot into this lodge and it shows. Kudos Zandre.
We had the most awesome stay at Gecko Ridge, the owner and his staff were very friendly. The Guesthouse is wonderfully decorated, very tasteful. The food was well prepared and tasty, all in all, we enjoyed our stay very much.
Our three-day visit to Swakopmund and all its beauty was ever more pleasant thanks to our host and staff from the Gecko Ridge. Good and personal advice about what to do and what not to do and to be honest: three days wasn’t enough.
The beds we slept in were one of a kind.
Perfect setting. Professional staff and friendly. Spectacular views from super clean and comfortable with awesome beds!! Braai area very private neat and clean. A perfect place to stay and a short drive to Swakopmund and surrounding places of interest.
I spent the best week in this hotel ever. Peacocks came to my balcony every evening! I really like this place! Service, security, rooms, location, design!!! Food, how they accept requests, peacocks, gym, swimming pool and also atmosphere! I felt like at home. 15 minutes and I can be in the middle of Swakopmund town. There is a stable with horses 2 minutes drive as well!
We were very surprised at how well equipped and maintained the self-catering units are. We were greeted by a very helpful host who was very welcoming. I was very doubtful about the location but once I settled in, it felt like home. Added to my favourites as a definite second home away from home.
Location was excellent. Just out of Swakopmund. In the heart of the desert. We could see the moon landscape from the lodge. The rooms were clean and beautify decorated. The staff friendly and helpful. We went for a mountain bike ride, just outside the lodge and saw lots of animal footprints.
